Founded in 1980, the Alagnak Lodge sits atop a bluff overlooking the wild and scenic Alagnak River in the heart of Alaska’s finest wilderness fishing area, the Bristol Bay watershed. Bristol Bay, Alaska, is home to the world’s largest salmon runs, and each summer millions of wild salmon pass our doorstep on the journey upriver to their spawning grounds.
Just five miles upriver from the mouth, our location on the river is unsurpassed. Each tide brings another batch of chrome-bright fish, fresh out of the salt water, and full of energy and fight. The Alagnak River has long been renowned as one of the finest sport fishing rivers in Alaska, and is home to strong runs of all five species of pacific salmon, which is unusual even in Alaska.
For much of the summer there are two or three species of salmon in the river at one time. Most of our salmon fishing takes place within a ten minute boat ride of the lodge either upriver or downriver, our location for salmon fishing is ideal, we don’t waste valuable time traveling to the fish.
Optional fly outs take you to many of the famous streams in the area for trophy rainbows, grayling, and more.
